The market for craft beer is localizing more and more with each passing year. At Ss Brewtech, we fully believe this is the future of craft beer; hyper localized and inviting brewery spaces, talented brewers getting creative with small batch commercial production, and embracing the ability to adapt instantaneously to new market trends. Some nano breweries have committed to remain small with a laser focus and passion for the craft, while others treat their nano operations as a stepping stone or proof of concept, to introduce their brands and begin to grow their names in the burgeoning micro segment. As a result, we've designed an entire line of equipment that new and existing owner/operators can build or expand their nano brewery around.
While starting your own brewery can be a daunting task on any scale, we think it’s important to highlight the hard work and long hours that nano brewers contribute to the community, here are a few case studies of nano breweries we've had the pleasure of working with.
Josh started brewing with Matt back in early 2014. Back then they were simply doing extract kits on Josh’s kitchen stove, but like most brewers they wanted to move past extract brewing. Right about the time that they moved to all-grain the two of them met Dan through bible study and began to build their first all electric system. Once they had grown to brewing over 1 bbl of beer in Matt’s basement they knew they had to move into a proper building.
Mark and Bryan opened Adroit Theory in Purcellville, VA back in 2013 with the goal of building a world-class brewery in Virginia. Currently, Adroit Theory beer is available in their tap room as well as local bars, restaurants, Costco, and Wegmans. In the coming years, they plan to expand to a second location and begin distributing beer outside of their local market.
Eric started home brewing in 2007, but recently he's decided to pursue his dream of opening up his own brewery. Starting down the path of nano brewing, Eric was able to outright purchase all of his equipment himself, without the need for outside investment. Brutal Beerworks is currently searching for a permanent home where they'll be able to expand their operation and continue to grow.
