Last summer we had the opportunity and honor to work with a living legend and one of the great pioneers in our industry. John Maier, the Brewmaster of Rogue Ales and Spirits, visited our booth at CBC 2016 and instantly fell in love with our new brewhouse design. The 5 bbl Ss Brewhouse has become the pilot system of choice for a number of craft breweries around the country since then.
Working with John and the entire Team from Rogue Ales on the ‘Mojo’ brewhouse was an amazing experience! Through a collaborative effort, we were able to prototype some exciting new technologies with them such as a rotatable racking arm on the boil kettle and a new sparge acidification system for the mash tun. Working with them on the Newport, Oregon system eventually led to us building another 5 bbl system for their Issaquah, WA brew pub.
As business operators, things in the outside world rarely go to plan—the past few years have offered ample evidence of that. Yet a smartly scaled and built-out brewhouse can provide a steady, reliable foundation on which to build.
